Custom Deck - Residential

Elevated Pier and Dock

Elevated Pier and

Floating Dock

February 2021

Located in in Mason County on Harstine Island, this project includes the design and detailing of a custom deck on an interesting circular lot! It's not too often we encounter a circular lot which dictated portions of the deck design. Although decks may seem simple, a sound load path to a solid foundation will allow a deck to last for many years, even when constructed from timber material.

We worked closely with not only the owner of the residence but the builder as well. This ensures that the design put together by Easley Engineering will not only be constructible the first time with no change orders, but it will be efficient as well which ultimately saves the owner money and gets them enjoying their deck sooner rather than later.

March/April 2021

Located in Mason County this project consists of designing a new elevated pier structure on Mason Lake. The pier is approximately 60 feet long and includes a finger pier at the end for additional space when docking watercraft or just having a good time jumping in the lake!

Easley Engineering and Design is working closely with the homeowners to ensure the proposed plan meets their indented design and use for a new elevated timber pier. This also means that we included potential costs in mind while performing the design.  Construction is slated to begin in April/May of 2021

Located in Jefferson County, this project includes the removal and replacement of a 192 ft. long elevated timber pier with a 50 ft. timber floating dock. The new structure is currently under the design phase and includes marine grade aluminum pier sections, gangway and timber framed floating dock with adequate buoyancy support to ensure the longevity of the float.

Easley Engineering and Design is working closely with the homeowners to ensure the proposed plan meets their indented design and use for a new staircase. This also means that we are keeping potential costs in mind while performing the design.  Construction is slated to begin in June/July of 2021

At Easley Engineering and Design, we work to meet each challenge that comes our way. No matter how complex or involved each new engineering project is, we have the experience and expertise to know exactly what is required to achieve success. Check out some of our current and past projects below!

Custom Staircase Replacement

Custom Rambler Home

January 2021

January 2021

Located in Mason County this stair rehabilitation and replacement project is large! The existing staircase is made of timber that is over 20 years old and deteriorated causing an unsafe condition for the homeowners to access the beach below. The new, replacement structure will be built out of aluminum stair stringers and railing which is naturally non corrosive and will last much longer than a timber structure.

Easley Engineering and Design worked closely with the homeowners to ensure the proposed plan meets their indented design and use for a new staircase. This also means that we included potential costs in mind while performing the design.  Construction is slated to begin in early 2021.

Located in Union, WA this custom home was designed to incorporate the forested land around into the home and includes a large back deck right off the main living room area.

Easley Engineering and Design is working closely with the owner to include all desired design features. This project is especially interesting due to the lot and incorporating the forested area into the home. Design includes truss coordination, foundation design, lateral analysis for wind and seismic, a temporary erosion and sediment control plan and much more. We are also developing technical details to accompany the architectural set for the builder to use during construction. These details are code driven and will ensure a long lasting, solid structure.
